Mitchell Hanlon - Fullerton-Based Piano Performance Academic and Tutor

A music and piano performance academic and Fullerton resident, Mitchell Hanlon, is a private music studio teacher. He has been a tutor, both freelancing and employed, since 1974, holding different institutional positions for over two decades, including as a part-time lecturer at Thornton School of Music, University of Southern California, between 1996 and 2003, a part-time and full-time lecturer, associate professor, and professor from 1995 to 2021 at California State University, Fullerton. Mitchell Hanlon now works full-time as a freelancer, primarily as a music director, pianist and voice teacher, serving students of different ages and ethnicities.

In Fullerton, Mr. Hanlon actively participates in charitable and church-related activities. He assists as the grant-writing chair of the Grants Committee at the local Elks Club in applying for grants from the Elks National Foundation Community Investment Program to support children, homeless veterans, and community programs, such as the youth literacy program. To date, he has helped the Fullerton lodge garner over $20,000 in charitable grants.
